' I came across Tynwald accidentally while travelling through Tasmania, and it truly was a fortuitous discovery. Tynwald is an historic home build in the 1830s and is a beautiful old house right in the heart of the Derwent Valley'
Tynwald has just six rooms for overnight guests, two with spas, and all furnished with antiques and offering peace in the Tasmanian country, just half an hour from Hobart. You may take advantage of our solar heated outdoor pool, tennis court, and complimentary mountain bikes.
A full breakfast, included in the tariff, is served in the original kitchen every morning, and our restaurant caters to guests and the public each evening.

Named for Governor Lachlan Macquarie this room is located on our ground floor and also features easy access without stairs. It has an ensuite shower room and bright decor.

is named after the pretty river valley in the hills to the South West of New Norfolk. Lachlan has it's own facilities, and is ideal for a couple. Lachlan is also on our ground floor, just down the hall from our lounge and the restaurant, so access is easy for anyone who cannot negotiate stairs.
Named after our own Derwent River, which flows from Lake St Clair to Hobart right past the Estate. Our Derwent Room offers the luxury of your own spa. and is furnished with antiques.The Derwent room is located on the first floor with access to the verandah.
Is just up a flight of stairs to the first floor and with it's own bathroom next door, and access to the balcony through stained glass panelled doors at the end of a wide hallway. Ideal for a couple travelling with another person.

This character cottage offers cosy accommodation for up to three guests. Perfect for those who want to get away from it all, the Granary is totally self contained, however guests are welcome to join us in the main house for breakfast and dinner.
